clinical supervision is the cornerstone of psychology training. it ensures the welfare of clients while providing a structure and process for the development of clinical competence. this workshop will focus on recent developments in trauma-informed clinical supervision, a lens through which we see prevention of supervisee vicarious traumatization, the learning cycle and its implicit influence on supervisee assessment, feedback, and evaluation, and management of reactivity. it will include a presentation of innovations in supervision practice and an update on california regulations with respect to clinical supervision. the workshop includes lecture, discussion, small group activities, and analysis of clinical and supervisory interactions.

- outline steps in the management of countertransference in clinical supervision.
- describe two essential components of the learning cycle in providing feedback to supervisees.
